Each of the 27 components started life as a piece of 350mm diameter tube which was heated and centrifuged to create shades with a diameter of over 500mm.

What is difficult to imagine is the immense heat radiated by this process, in the time taken to shoot this video the camera became literally too hot to handle and that’s 3 meters back.

Hats off to the little Olympus tough 610, used for making this video, handling such extreme conditions and living to tell the tale, this is some achievement.
